Where to have a picnic when you are in Hawaii?

1. Kapiolani Park

Between the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium, the makai section of the park is a great place for picnics since it has access to the beach, restrooms and showers, shade, and a few scattered picnic tables. Your kids can build sandcastles, play tag on the open grass, or visit the duck pond by the bandstand, among other activities, in this area. Then, finish the day with a front-row view of the setting sun.

2. Magic Island at Ala Moana Regional Park

This accessible municipal park is great for a picnic any time of day because of its commanding views of Leahi (Diamond Head), adequate shade, and several restrooms. Since they are placed far from the road, the pathways winding through Magic Island make the ideal racetrack for children riding scooters or bikes. While watching their children do laps on their picnic blanket, parents can unwind.

3. Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden

Despite being a 400-acre tropical paradise with stunning scenery, the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden is still one of the last undiscovered secrets on the windward side of Oahu. The area has botanical collections from all around the world and protects Kneohe from flooding (including Malaysia, Africa, and Polynesia). You're in luck because entry to the botanical garden is free. There is plenty of room for a picnic in the park, and there are outstanding hiking, birdwatching, and photography options close to the Visitor Center.

4. Pick a beach, any!

One of those iconic island activities is having a picnic on the sand, whether it be with a bottle of wine after sunset or during the day in between trips into the ocean. Actually, any beach can do, but if you want to have a true beach Aloha picnic, pick a less busy day.

No matter what types or where you choose to have a splendid Hawaiian picnic, Hawaii Picnic Service provides a tailored and enhanced picnic experience across the islands with attentive planning and precise execution.
